Date:

17 October 2016 to 20 October 2016

Statistical Data and Metadata eXchange (SDMX) is the preferred standard for allowing National Statistical Offices (NSOs) to standardise and automate the exchange of data and metadata.

With the perspective of the challenges encountered by developing countries, PARIS21 participated in the 8th Meeting of the Expert Group on SDMX, held 17-20 October 2016, in Aguascalientes, Mexico. As part of the event, PARIS21 and a member of Rwanda's NSO presented a case study of SDMX implementation in Rwanda to illustrate the issues and benefits the initiative has brought in the digital data dissemination sphere in Rwanda.

As a member, PARIS21 also participated in the kick-off meeting of the IAEG-SDGs Working Group on SDMX for SDG Indicators held on 21st October 2016 in Aguascalientes.
