Survey and Census Data Documentation Workshop

11 - 15 July

Noumea, New Caledonia

In an effort to address specific problems in data dissemination with Small Island Developing States (SIDS), PARIS21 is undertaking a survey and census data documentation workshop in Noumea, New Caledonia from July 11-15. This workshop will also feature a distributed model for the National Data Archive (NADA) in island collections. The NADA collection based functionality is ideal for SIDS as it allows for the building and promoting of regional economies of scale as a solution to address challenges in capacity and resources. The objective of the workshop is to not only build capacity in documenting surveys but also get a consensus on the processes of documenting data between islands and the region; quality review of metadata; publishing survey metadata and allowing access to microdata. This workshop will also look at the microdata stock in the region and present the ADAPT system at a regional level for potential SDG monitoring.
