The Central Statistics Organization (CSO) of Afghanistan has released the results from two of its recent surveys.

The 2013-2014 Afghanistan Living Conditions Survey (ALCS), conducted by the Central Statistical Organization (CSO) and financially supported by the European Commission, is the fifth survey of its kind following previous releases in 2003, 2005, 2007-08 and 2011-12.

The 2015 Afghanistan Demographic and Health Survey (AfDHS) is the first Demographic and Health Survey (DHS) conducted in Afghanistan. It was implemented by the Central Statistics Organization (CSO) and the Ministry of Public Health (MoPH) with funding provided by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID)

These surveys are intended to be an instrumental tool in guiding policy and programming efforts for the development of the country.
