PARIS21, in partnership with the UN Statistical Institute for Asia and the Pacific (SIAP), organised the 3rd NSDS Regional Training Course for high level NSO officials from Central and North Asian countries. The training course was aimed at developing the capacity of Asian countries in the strategic planning process on statistics and improving NSS coordination skills.  It was also a way for participants to strengthen their knowledge and appreciation of the important role of the NSO as co-ordinator of the national statistical system. Officials from the NSOs of Kazakhstan, Kyrgyz Republic, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan and Mongolia participated in the 3-day training held on 15-17 November 2016 at the SIAP Headquarters in Chiba, Japan.
