PARIS21 participated in the World Trade Organisation (WTO) Thematic Course on Trade in Services Statistics for Least Developed Countries (LDCs), in Geneva on 18 November 2016.  Participants agreed that trade statistics strategies need to be better mainstreamed in the larger NSDS process in countries, in order to improve the production and dissemination of reliable data on trade in services. In particular, these statistics will serve as a good base for negotiation on preferential treatment for LDCs at the WTO, enhancing their participation in international trade, which is key to reach the Sustainable Developement Goals.
