Upon the invitation of the Statistical Institute of Belize (SIB), PARIS21 conducted a mission to Belize (Belmopan and Belize City) from 14 to 17 March 2011. The members of the mission met with key stakeholders of the national statistical system and raised awareness on the importance of designing and implementing a National Strategy for the Development of Statistics (NSDS). They also met with financial and technical partners to promote the creation of a sustainable co-ordination mechanism between the donor community and the government in the framework of the NSDS.
