The PARIS21 Secretariat undertook a joint mission with DFID and GIZ to Monrovia, Liberia, to support the Liberia Institute of Statistics & Geo-Information Services (LISGIS) in the implementation of the 2008-2013 National Strategy for the Development of Statistics (NSDS).

During its mission, the joint team attended several bilateral meetings with donors and partners to discuss their support to the implementation of the NSDS. The mission also facilitated a meeting with 40 participants to present the NSDS midterm report and the action plan for the 2011/12 NSDS implementation. Meeting participants agreed to strengthen their dialogue on statistical development and to launch a coordination mechanism on statistics. The PARIS21 Secretariat will provide support and guidance in the establishment of this group.
