On the initiative of the National Statistical Institute of Peru (INEI) and the APCI (Peruvian Agency for International cooperation), a statistics co-ordination group -- grupo tematico de estadisticas -- was established in Lima on 26 September 2011. Facilitated by PARIS21, the event brought together 35 participants to create this group co-led by UNFPA and the Inter-American Development Bank.
