The ASEAN Secretariat, Eurostat, and PARIS21 co-organised the regional event "ASEAN Regional Workshop on Strategic Statistical Planning: Towards a stronger ASEAN Community Statistical System" to promote support for ASEAN's regional strategy for the development of statistics (RSDS) and for ASEANstats, the ASEAN Secretariat's statistical unit.

H.E. Mr. Ouk Chay, Cambodian Secretary of State, Ministry of PlanningThe Cambodian Secretary of State in the Ministry of Planning, H.E. Mr. Ouk Chay, delivered a keynote address on the role of statistics in facilitating the way forward to ASEAN regional integration. He commented that statistics are "an important tool in translating strategic goals into concrete, manageable, and measurable actions."
