On the 6th of February 2013, the PARIS21 Secretariat held a workshop in Conakry, Guinea, with the main objective to integrate National Strategies for the Development of Statistics (NSDS) into the third Poverty Reduction Strategy Paper (DSRPIII).

The workshop brought together participants from the permanent secretariat of poverty reduction strategy, the National Statistics Office of Guinea, and the National Statistics Office of Ivory Coast. They discussed the results of an evaluation of the second Poverty Reduction Strategy Paper (DSRPII) and the political role of the NSDS in the field of development. In addition, participants from Ivory Coast shared their successful experience in the field.

The workshop in Guinea drew on the results of a regional event for French-speaking countries, organised by PARIS21 and the National Statistics Office of Ivory Coast, last September 2012 in Abidjan. The workshop concluded with a number of recommendations and the preparation for an action plan for the NSDS 2013-2015 into priority activities of DSRPIII, where statistics can play a pivotal role in the national development.
