On the request of the Central Agency for Public Mobilization and Statistics (CAPMAS), a comprehensive assessment of the Egypt National Statistical System is underway.

The assessment is being undertaken by PARIS21 in collaboration with the African Development Bank (AfDB), the United Nations Economic Commission for Africa (UNECA), and the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Western Asia (UNESCWA). It is expected that the assessment will provide recommendations for developing the first National Strategy for the Development of Statistics in the country to better respond to the increasing data demands.
