PARIS21 participated in the UNSD kick-off meeting on the Development Account Project on Strengthening Capacity for Post-2015 Monitoring from 2-6 November 2015 in Phnom Penh, Cambodia.

The objective of the meeting is to raise awareness of the requirements for monitoring the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and post-2015 development goals and targets and assess the current statistical capacity of three pilot countries in the Asia region – Cambodia, Philippines, and Vietnam.

The following key requirements arose in the discussions:

1) Raise awareness at the country level on SDGs;

2) Strengthen capacity of NSO and NSS in monitoring the SDGs; and

3) Improve the sources of data for the SDGs.
