NSDS Regional Workshop for Portuguese-Speaking Countries

Among the conclusions that emerged from the Comunidade De Paises De Lingua Portuguesa (CPLP) Directors of Statistics meeting held 29 and 30 November 2004 in Lisbon was the eagerness of PARIS21 to support Lusophone countries’ efforts in the design of National Strategies for the Development of Statistics (NSDS). The Países Africanos de Língua Oficial Portuguesa (PALOP) countries and East Timor were particularly interested in participating in a regional workshop, to share experiences and launch the NSDS process.

This event was held in Bissau, Guinea-Bissau, from 3-5 May 2005. Participating countries drafted roadmaps for taking their NSDS design processes forward.
