Manager - PARIS21 Secretariat

PARIS21 is recruiting a Manager for its Secretariat, to be stationed in the OECD offices in Paris. The Manager will be responsible for implementing the PARIS21 work programme and will report to the PARIS21 Bureau and Steering Committee. This position requires strong leadership and communication skills, and extensive knowledge of development issues and of the statistical capacity building area. The selected candidate will be required to foster close relationships with several institutions and networks while ensuring an effective and smooth management of the Secretariat.

The Role of Statistics
...in the Aid Effectiveness Agenda
Accra, Ghana: 2 September 2008

In the margins of the Third High-Level Forum on Aid Effectiveness to be held in Accra, Ghana from 2 to 4 September 2008, PARIS21 and its partners will organise a side event on the development of national statistical systems and the role of statistics in the Aid Effectiveness agenda. Specifically, the event will present the new Statistics for Results Facility, which aims to accelerate the strengthening of statistical capacities in developing countries, through implementation of National Strategies for the Development of Statistics (NSDSs), so that there is a sustained improvement in the availability of and access to reliable statistics in order to better measure and manage for development results. The event will be held on 2 September 2008 from 13.15 to 14.15 in Participant Tent Room B.
