Strengthening the Climate Change Data Ecosystem (CCDE): Senegal and the region

Available and timely climate change data is crucial to help governments and societies adapt to new climate realities and mitigate the effects of climate change. Countries in Africa rank among the most vulnerable to the impacts of climate change. Floods, storms, and droughts have been more frequent in the region, jumping from 85 recorded events in the 1970s to over 540 between 2010 and 2019. This regional workshop seeks to disseminate the results of the collaborations between Agence nationale de la statistique et de la démographie du Sénégal (ANSD), the Ministry of Environment and Sustainable Development, and PARIS21 and other development partners on climate change data and explore venues for strategic scaling-up support in Senegal and the region.
