The event will spotlight 3 successful approaches:
- Connecting: How might we break down silos between government officials, statisticians, journalists, academics and civil society?
- Communicating: How do we present, package and share data in a compelling way? What role can civil society play in developing these narratives given they know the local context best?
- Capacity-building: What needs to shift in our current approach to improve capacity development?
As we gear up for this year's HLPF, where SDG 16 takes center stage, the importance of gender-disaggregated data becomes increasingly important. By adopting robust gender-sensitive measures, governments can enhance their resilience and better navigate the complex challenges we face today with an emphasis on equity and justice.
What are the learning objectives?
The ‘Democratizing Gender Data for Better Policymaking’ session aims to inspire policymakers globally to become gender data champions in their ministries, as well as guide other stakeholders on how they can more effectively support policymakers, whether through data collection, analysis and interpretation, or packaging and communication.
How do you participate?
