Since its independence, Ghana has recognised that innovation is an integral factor for the sustained socio-economic development of the country. Placing science, technology and innovation at centre stage, the Ghanaian government has established a number of key institutions as the building blocks to foster innovation and technological development in the country.

This table presents the status of National Strategies for the Development of Statistics (NSDS) in International Development Association (IDA) borrower countries, Least Developed Countries, Low and Lower-Middle Income Countries, and some Upper-Middle Income Countries (in order to report on the whole of the African continent), as of March 2020.

The survey aimed to provide an understanding of how CCSA member agencies are impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic. It aimed at fostering coordination in agency responses. The survey assessed the crisis resilience of CCSA members in five dimensions: 1) strategic priorities, 2) financial resources and crisis preparedness, 3) data production and dissemination, 4) capacity development and technical assistance, and 5) financial assistance.

This Partner Report on Support to Statistics (PRESS) 2020 provides the key facts, and evidence for more and better funding needs to development data. It includes a new section (Part 1) to provide a snapshot of funding to data and statistics during the time of COVID-19.
