HLPF Side Event: How can we strengthen CRVS systems as a means to improving gender equality?

The High-level Political Forum on Sustainable Development is United Nations central platform for the follow-up and review of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development and the Sustainable Development Goals, adopted at the United Nations Sustainable Development Summit on 25 September 2015.

PARIS21, along with the Republic of the Philippines, Global Affairs Canada, UN Economic Commission for Africa and Data2X, will be hosting a side event on How can we strengthen CRVS systems as a means to improving gender equality? This event will look at the challenges, opportunities and solutions to strengthening CRVS systems by addressing the following issues:

  • Highlight gender issues within CRVS systems, and the importance of designing these systems with a gender lens
  • Showcase positive examples and innovations at the national and regional level for countries and partners to strengthen CRVS systems
  • Identify initiatives and partnership arrangements to strengthen CRVS systems and achieve gender equality
