The 2nd Leadership Training for Heads of NSOs in Asia was organised by PARIS21, in partnership and collaboration with the UN Statistical Institute for Asia and the Pacific, on 27-28 March 2018, in Chiba, Japan.
The training was attended by 7 delegates from 6 countries (Bangladesh, Indonesia, Iran, Lao PDR, Pakistan, and Sri Lanka). The training is part of PARIS21 and SIAP’s programme in strengthening soft skills of NSO Heads in the context of Capacity Development 4.0. The training focuses on 2 key areas:
- better understanding of the leadership concept and how NSO Heads, as leaders in the national statistical system, can increase his/her leadership effectiveness
- deeper awareness of how, as a leader, one can lead change and work with his/her team and with other statistics stakeholders using the various leadership tools presented
The leadership training in Asia is the 6th in a series of leadership trainings organised by PARIS21 in Africa and Asia regions, benefitting a total of 75 NSO leaders from 53 countries.
