Dr. Hussien Abdelaziz welcomes representatives from PARIS21, UNECA and AFDB.

Egypt's Central Agency for Public Mobilization and Statistics (CAPMAS) has started drafting the country's first ever National Strategy for the Development of Statistics (NSDS). Supported by multi-agency institutions - PARIS21, United Nations Economic Commission for Africa (UNECA) and the African Development Bank - the process has received great interest from CAPMAS leadership. A national drafting team is already in place which includes representatives from the Ministry of Finance, Ministry of Planning and CAPMAS. Through a mission conducted by the three agencies from 4th to 8th September 2016, the NSDS roadmap has been revised, a NSDS concept has been clarified, a SWOT analysis has been undertaken, a sector approach to NSDS has been clarified, sectors have been identified and means to respond to the Egypt’s development plan (the Vision 2030) have been identified.
