A fully functional and resilient national statistics system for quality statistics that meet users' needs
PARIS21 supported a three-day validation workshop of the Gambia 3rd National Strategy for the Development of Statistics (NSDS 2024-2028). The strategy is essential in building “a fully functional and resilient national statistical system that produces and disseminates quality statistics in response to user needs by 2028”.
The NSDS3 design process was participatory with 17 NSS institutions contributing under the coordination and guidance of the Gambia Bureau of Statistics (GBOS) who came together to validate the final document.
The strategy is aligned with and driven by the data needs from the Gambia new National Development Plan (2023-2027), ECOWAS regional statistical development strategy, the African Union 2063 Agenda, and the UN 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Development partners are committed to support the NSDS3 implementation.
